Sara Asif Spencer is the Upstate N.Y. clinical and scientific liaison (CSL) for Otsuka Pharmaceutical. As a central nervous system (CNS) CSL, she focuses on psychiatric and neurological clinical initiatives and education.
Spencer is originally from West Nyack, N.Y., and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her interest in patient care and improving therapeutic outcomes led her to pursue a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida. She went on to complete an accredited PGY-1 managed care residency at the Capital District Physicians Health Plan (CDPHP) in Albany, N.Y.
Prior to her current role, Spencer was the director of experiential education and clinical assistant professor at the Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Johnson City, N.Y. She has a diverse pharmacy background with expertise at both the patient and population levels. She has developed and implemented patient care strategies and clinical programs across various settings including community, institutional and managed care pharmacy. Spencer is passionate about the progression of pharmacy and developing ambitious, well-rounded future pharmacists.
Spencer resides in Upstate N.Y., with her husband and two children.
