Lynda Ruffini joined the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in August 2016, as a senior research support specialist. As a licensed veterinary technician, she is knowledgeable in animal handling and care of many species, managing rodent colonies, performing surgery and utilizing anesthetics. She also has extensive cell culture experience and enjoys teaching and interacting with students and staff to help them gain experience and understanding of laboratory applications and animal models. Ruffini is licensed to practice as a veterinary technician in New York state and is a registered veterinary technician in the state of California. After working as a veterinary technician and clinic manager in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, Calif., Ruffini joined the Jobe/Ikegami Pediatric Cardio-Pulmonary Lab at Harbor UCLA Medical Center as a research technician. Other lab experience includes at Lake-Bakaar Hepatitis C Lab, the VAMC in Northport, N.Y., at the Van Nostrand Alzheimer’s Lab at SUNY Stony Brook and in Distinguished Professor of Psychology Linda Spear’s Adolescent Alcohol Lab at Binghamton University.Lynda Ruffini
