Emilio Roma was a Director of PPL and a Professor in the Philosophy Department. Generous Binghamton Alumni have donated to a fund in his honor that supports prizes that recognize and encourage excellence among PPL majors. The Prizes include:
The Emilio Roma III Memorial Award, which is given annually to the top graduating PPL majors, based on academic success and contributions to the major.
The Emilio Roma III Memorial Award in Law and Justice, which is given annually to the top student in PHIL 146: Law and Justice, based on academic success in and contributions to the class.
The Emilio Roma III Memorial Award in Philosophy of Law, which is given annually to the top student in PHIL 345: Philosophy of Law, based on academic success in and contributions to the class.
