Fall 2024: Volunteers Needed!
Spring 2024 was another great semester ... with a new POP record! We made 19 school visits to 4 schools, traveling 200 miles, bringing 10 science topics to engage over 250 kids! We’ll need lots of help in the fall semester, so I hope you can join us … and bring a friend!
The Physics Outreach Project engages BU student volunteers in partnerships with parents and teachers to bring this valuable community service to hundreds of kids each semester!
The best way to get a look at POP in the fall is to visit our tables at UFest! We're hard to miss: we have the purple Sky Dancer! Come see us and sign up for POP on Saturday, August 24.
POP brings the wonder and fun of science to kids in local schools:
- Vestal Schools: African Road, Vestal Hills, Glenwood
- Binghamton Schools: Horace Mann Elementary, Woodrow Wilson, MacArthur
- Endicott Schools: C. Fred Johnson Elementary
- Windsor Schools: C.R. Weeks, A.F. Palmer
- Johnson City Elementary and Middle
- Owego Elementary
- Hillel Academy
Volunteer Registration
The Physics Outreach Project needs lots of enthusiastic volunteers each semester to bring STEM programs to local schools and community events. A science background is not required, and training, T-shirt, and transportation are provided!
The only real requirement is that you like kids!
