All Binghamton University Scholars are provided the following privileges and opportunities:
- The opportunity to earn President's Honors (3.5-4.0 GPA) or All-University Honors (3.25-3.49 GPA)
- Guaranteed choice of any major in any school or college at Binghamton University (must apply by March 10 of your first year)
- Early course registration priority every semester
- $3500 Binghamton University Scholars Award for mentored research, internships, study abroad or advanced professional development at the start of your second year
- Opportunities to showcase exemplary academic research or other scholarly works nationally or internationally
- Opportunities to network with the best minds at Binghamton University and beyond.
- Scholars Gallery - Works of art by our Scholars are prominently displayed
- Professional mentoring by top University officials, campus leaders, professors, and key staff members
- Mentoring by Scholars peers
- Scholars Learning Community in Broome hall of Newing College residential area.
- Scholars–only courses, with enrollment limits capped at 25 students, feature themes including global and cultural awareness and creative interdisciplinary thinking
- Guthrie Scholars Premedical Internship - Spend a semester with physicians, administrators, and medical school students at Guthrie - Robert Packer Hospital
- Priority graduate school admission to all graduate programs at Binghamton University
- Scholars Lounge - Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere in our lounge just for Scholars with free hot chocolate and coffee
- Scholars Project Lab - Reserve the lab to practice a presentation or collaborate with fellow students
- Career and Graduate School Counseling by a Career Counselor dedicated to helping Scholars with employment and/or graduate school planning
- Leadership opportunities - Scholars can serve on Council, as Scholars Mentors, Scholars Teaching Assistants and Scholars Program Assistants

- Social and professional events - We host fun activities from bowling in Binghamton to visiting the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia
