Background

Boring’s primary research interests are the development, evaluation, and dissemination of online mental health programs for children and families. He is particularly interested in asynchronous online approaches built to maximize scalability and engagement. He has been the lead developer of several online mental health programs including his program Children of Divorce – Coping with Divorce (CoD-CoD), which is the only existing evidence-based online program for children and adolescents. Boring’s primary teaching interests are in using active learning methods to foster the skills and knowledge needed to effectively consume and conduct research particularly with respect to the development of mental health programs.
