Spring Housing Process

Welcome to the spring 2024 on-campus housing process. This process is for newly admitted spring 2024 students and as well as current students returning from semester abroad programs and/or leave.

The self-selection process for spring 2024 admitted new first year and transfer students has concluded.

Still looking for spring housing?  On Campus space remains available!

Contact Residential Life reslife@binghamton.edu or call 607-777-2321 and we will assist you in finding a room.

New first-year students:

  • are required to live on campus and are guaranteed housing.
  • are not eligible to live in the Apartments Community.

New transfer students and students returning from study abroad/leave:

  • are not required to live on campus.
  • often enjoy the more independent living option available in our Apartments Community.
  • may live in the traditional lower campus residence halls as space permits.

Room Rates

Room rates vary by area and room type. As you consider your options, be sure to check out the room rates web page.

Communication

Throughout the housing process, communication will be sent exclusively through your Binghamton University email account. Please check your B-mail often for important dates, deadlines, updates and process information.

We will not be available to provide assistance or respond to emails from December 23, 2023 to January 2, 2024.

Housing accommodations

Students with documented long-term or permanent disabilities or serious medical conditions may request housing accommodations. To be eligible for housing accommodations the student must have a disability and the disability must necessitate adjustments to the living environment.

All students must participate in the Residential Life housing sign-up process in order to obtain on-campus housing. The request for a housing accommodation is a separate process and should be done as soon as you are aware of your need for this accommodation. Students with documented long-term or permanent disabilities or serious medical conditions may request housing accommodations through Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).

Residential Life has the most flexibility to work with and meet approved accommodations if you are approved at least 30 days prior to the start of your housing sign up time. It takes time to process an accommodation request so apply as early as possible.

Cancellations

Transfer and returning students who select a room in this process may cancel their housing assignment up until the published residence hall opening date for the semester (January 12, 2024). After this date, no cancellations are permitted unless the student is not enrolled for the spring semester.
