Romance Languages and Literatures

Background

Miller McLean was awarded his PhD in French from the University of Virginia in May 2024. His research focuses on masculinities in 19th-century French literature, particularly in the realist/naturalist novel and in Romantic drama. His dissertation and recent publications both focus on the question of paternal authority in Émile Zola’s late fiction. 

At Binghamton University, he teaches French language courses and currently leads the Table Française, the department’s French conversation table.
