The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Binghamton University is home to a dynamic faculty, with research and teaching expertise in Spanish, French, and Italian. From beginner to graduate offerings, medieval to contemporary studies, literature to linguistics, and cultural exploration to language for the professions, our department offers dozens of courses each semester to well over 1,000 students. Apart from cutting-edge research and high-impact learning, faculty are devoted to providing second language learners and heritage speakers with opportunities to use our languages inside and out of the classroom, whether at Binghamton University, through our community-engaged initiatives, or study abroad opportunities.
