Background
Monica Straniero earned a PhD in Philosophy in Italian Arts and Culture (University of Guglielmo Marconi). Her specialization includes Italian cinema, the intricacies of immigration in Italian literature, and graphic novels.
Her research explores the interrelationships between film, literature and graphic narratives in contemporary Italian society. Her articles have been published in national and international journals.
At the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, she teaches language courses at all levels across the curriculum. She has also developed and taught graduate courses on graphic novels, cinema and literature.
