Ingrid Michaelson '01 / Theatre
Michaelson is the daughter of a classical music composer and started taking piano lessons from the age of 5. After graduating from Binghamton, she cultivated her interest in music by performing at a coffee house and teaching theatre to kids when she got a call from a manager who discovered Michaelson's homegrown music on her MySpace page. Within months, her music could be found sound-tracking Grey's Anatomy and Old Navy commercials.
Paul Reiser '77, LHD '00 / Music
Reiser is a comedian, actor, television writer, author and musician. In addition to co-creating and starring on the critically acclaimed NBC series, Mad About You (1992), his successes also include his books Couplehood and Babyhood. He stars in two hit shows for Netflix: Stranger Things and Chuck Lorre’s The Kominsky Method.
Victor Williams '92 / Theatre
Williams is best known for playing Deacon Palmer in the popular sitcom The King of Queens. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he grew up playing basketball in school. He was well over 6 feet during his teen years. However, he soon became interested in the entertainment world and made his acting debut at the age of 15, with a small role in the film titled Boggy Creek II.
Ruben Santiago-Hudson '78 / Theatre
Ruben Santiago-Hudson '78 (Theatre) played Bayard Rustin in the blockbuster film Selma. He was writer and executive producer of Lackawanna Blues, telecast on HBO. He received a Tony Award for his performance in August Wilson’s Seven Guitars and an Obie for his autobiographical one-man show Lackawanna Blues.
Marjorie Cohn '78 / Art
Marjorie Cohn '78 (Art) is head of television for the combined DreamWorks Animation Television and Universal television animation business, overseeing all television development and production, including the content for DWA TV's groundbreaking multi-year deal with Netflix.
Bill T. Jones
Bill T. Jones is a Tony Award-winning choreographer, Kennedy Center Honor recipient and MacArthur Fellowship "Genius Award" recipient. While attending Binghamton University, Bill T. studied classical ballet and modern dance. Binghamton is also where he started his first dance company in 1973.
John Wilson ’08 / Cinema
A filmmaker and writer, Wilson gained acclaim for his docu-series How to With John Wilson. The Long Island native chose Binghamton University for its cinema program and its legacy in experimental filmmaking, and credited faculty members with helping him develop his craft.
