CCPA Social Work

Background

Keisha M. Wint is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and who serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work. Her research interests were cultivated out of her 20 of experience as a social work practitioner serving in schools, communities, and in private practice.

Her current interests focus on identifying factors which strengthen child-teacher relationships specifically as it relates to the experiences of young children who have experienced marginalization in schools such as Black preschool boys.

In response to the call from educators during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Dr. Wint recently engaged in community based research with preschool educators to identify tools and resources for communicating with young children regarding grief-related experiences.

Her goals as a research scholar are to continue to collaborate with communities to develop and execute a translational research agenda which focuses on improving educational outcomes for young children starting early in the life course.
