Research Assistant, Memory, Aging, and Cognitive Control (MAC2) Laboratory
Description:
Dr. Ian McDonough's Memory, Aging, and Cognitive Control (MAC2) Laboratory investigates the fundamental characteristics and causal mechanisms of healthy and pathological brain aging across the adult lifespan. Data collection will consist of structural and functional MRI and proton MR spectroscopy. Multiple biological measures will be collected including saliva, blood, and fecal samples. Several projects also will involve administering neural stimulation simultaneously across multiple brain sites.
The Research Assistant will help recruit, screen, and scheduling of study participants and conduct telephone interviews. The Research Assistant will also coordinate the follow-up of study participants with some oversight of day-to-day operation of the project; develop, program, and test surveys; perform literature searches. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and offloading of data from study devices (e.g., neurostimulation, fNIRS).

Skills required: excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills.
Skills preferred: At least 1 year experience in a laboratory environment, mathematical, statistical, and/or coding skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, shell scripting).
