Heidy Batista, a dance artist with a career as a performer, teacher and choreographer, has left her mark on stages across the globe. Born and raised in Cuba, she graduated from the National Ballet School in Havana and joined Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, the leading contemporary dance company in the country. Batista then honed her skills in the Cuban Modern Dance Technique, becoming a first dancer. Her performances have graced prestigious venues such as The Joyce Theater in New York, Sadler's Wells in London and Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona. Collaborating with renowned choreographers such as Mats Ek, Rafael Bonachela and Itzik Galili, Batista's influence has extended beyond her Cuban roots. She participated in several dance festivals, such as the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary; the Brisbane Festival in Australia; and the Movimentos Festival in Wolfsburg, Germany. She later joined Ballet Revolucion, showcasing her classical and contemporary dance skills on stage, primarily in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France. Her extensive tours have enriched her with a wealth of experience, making her a truly global dance artist. In addition to her performance career, Batista earned her Master of Dance degree from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) at the University of Melbourne, where she showcased her choreographic work. She also earned her MBA from Torrens University, Australia. Batista collaborated at the Conservatoire of Ballet, Box Hill Institute and JMC Academy in Melbourne. She also taught online dance classes at The Danceworx Academy in India and coached several dancers in Denmark, Sweden and Australia. Batista also facilitated dance-intensive workshops in Cuba and Mexico and, most recently, at the National Dance Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
