About the course

The goal of this credential course is to familiarize students with Fusion 360 – a CAD, CAM and CAE software. This course focuses on the CAD features of Fusion 360 and provides hands-on experience with creating and manufacturing 3D models. In developing their CAD skills, students will learn how to develop, modify and optimize the engineering design process.

In order to earn their digital badge, students must complete the assigned coursework, which consists of online video content from our Autodesk partner.

This course is the pre-requisite for  Design for Manufacturing with Fusion 360.

Learning Objectives

At the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Create 3D designs using both parametric and freeform modeling tools and techniques
  • Assemble parts by applying different joints and constraints, including motion links
  • Create 2D technical drawings from 3D designs
  • Generate an STL file for 3D printing
