Cornell's Master of Engineering degree is an immersive one-year program open to those with any STEM undergraduate degree. It provides the technical and practical skills needed for success in computer informatics, energy systems, food science, medical and industrial technology, or product design.
Select one or more of these focus areas: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Energy Economics and Engineering, and Medical and Industrial Biotechnology.
Cohort-based approach: our M.Eng. fosters professional development through immersion and collaboration on team projects.
Immersive, real-world projects: students work in partnership with world-renowned faculty, policymakers, corporations, start-ups, and governmental organizations to develop solutions to real-world challenges.

Is chemical engineering right for me? Chemical engineers work with chemical change and chemical processing. They develop ways to produce chemicals, or design, build, and operate a chemical production plant. They search for new sources of energy or work to clean up the environment. Chemical engineers also play an important role in new technologies such as semiconductor processing and biotechnology or in the development of new materials such as polymers and ceramics.
