Meet Our Tutors
The undergraduate and graduate students who tutor in the Center are chosen for their
excellent writing ability as well as their people skills. Each semester they participate
in a 4-credit course in the theory and practice of Writing Center tutoring, in which
they read and discuss scholarly works about composition pedagogy and best practices
in peer tutoring. Our tutors undergo extensive orientation and training before the
Writing Center opens, improve their skills through practice and reflection, and benefit
from weekly faculty feedback and ongoing supervision.
