National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts (NACTA)
NACTA was founded in 1950 and has served as China’s premier academic institution for
traditional Chinese opera and theater education, often regarded as “the cradle of
the best Chinese theater artists.” In recent years, NACTA has also been active in
the pursuit of international collaboration through joint educational programs and
the promotion of Chinese opera overseas. Having established partnerships in art education
and communication with 23 universities around the world, including Hong Kong, Macau
and Taiwan.
