For example, a website's fully-qualified address may be www.binghamton.edu/college/department/program/index.html and the marketing URL would be www.binghamton.edu/program.
The marketing URL registration request allows for the following:
- Ensure Binghamton ownership of all marketing URLs
- Ensure alignment with the university marketing strategy
- Streamline the registration process
- Collect necessary information from the requestor in one contact form
- Obtain appropriate approvals for the associated costs and intended use
- Ensure that technical contacts are maintained to facilitate accurate maintenance and publishing of marketing URLs on the world wide web
