Health, Uniform & Equipment Requirements

Health and Clinical Practice Requirements

As a nursing student, you must comply with health regulations set by the New York State Department of Health, the Decker School of Nursing, Binghamton University and affiliated agencies. Compliance is verified before and immediately following all deadlines.

Carefully read and comply with the health/clinical practice requirements detailed on Decker's Undergraduate Nursing Students Requirements webpage by the posted deadline. Failure to complete and maintain health/clinical practice requirements may prevent placement in clinical settings, result in course failure and/or prohibit future registration.

Uniform Policy

The uniform for undergraduate nursing students includes black scrub bottoms and a hunter green, V-neck scrub top with the Decker School of Nursing logo on the left side. A green scrub jacket with the Decker School of Nursing logo on the left side is optional. Shoes must be closed-toe and closed back, and all black or all white. Review the Uniform Policy in the Undergraduate Nursing Student Handbook for details.

Uniform ordering: Uniforms are available for purchase through FlynnO'Hara Uniforms. It is recommended that you purchase two sets of scrubs.

Equipment Requirements

As an undergraduate nursing student, you must buy an assessment kit containing basic medical equipment for clinical practice experiences. In addition, the Decker School of Nursing requires you to own a laptop or iPad while enrolled in the nursing program. Review the Undergraduate Nursing Students Requirements webpage for details.
