Registration and Advising

Registration

You will be preregistered for your summer courses and will receive your schedule at orientation. Additionally, professional advising staff will assist you over the summer as you self-register for the fall semester. 

Prior to orientation, you should:

  1. View the Schedule of Classes to search for courses, descriptions and details. 
  2. Review the University Registrar's How to Register webpage.

BAT Schedule of Classes

Review the BAT curriculum plan in this Google folder for an idea of the classes you will be taking. You can anticipate being in the classroom Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. (or earlier) through 5 p.m. There are also limited weekend obligations throughout the program. Additional details about clinical placements will be provided to you before registration for each semester.

Summer Session

BAT students take NURS 320, NURS 321, NURS 351, NURS 360 and NURS 361 over the summer. NURS 321 spans the entire Summer Session (May through August). NURS 320 and NURS 351 span Summer Term 1 (May through July). NURS 360 and NURS 361 span Summer Term II (July and August). A lab section is associated with NURS 321; your schedule may differ depending on your lab section. You can anticipate having classes Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. (or earlier for clinicals) through 5 p.m. throughout the entire Summer Session. Times are subject to change.

Fall semester

BAT students take NURS 322, NURS 352, NURS 353, NURS 362 and NURS 365 in the fall. NURS 322 and NURS 365 span the entire fall semester (August through December). NURS 352 and NURS 353 span Fall Term I (August through October). NURS 362 spans Fall Term II (October through December). A lab section is associated with NURS 322, NURS 352, NURS 353 and NURS 362; your schedule may differ depending on your lab section. In the first half of the fall, you can anticipate having classes two days a week and clinical practice four days a week. These will take place Mondays through Fridays. In the second half of the fall, you can anticipate having classes two days a week and clinical practice two days a week (also Mondays through Fridays). Times are subject to change. 

Winter Session

BAT students take NURS 363 over the winter. For an idea of when this course is typically offered, go to the Schedule of Classes, select a previous winter schedule from a recent academic year and search for NURS 363. The NURS 363 lecture and lab sections will populate and will include a course description, meeting times and date range. A lab section is associated with NURS 363; your schedule may differ depending on your lab section. Times are subject to change. 

Spring semester

BAT students take NURS 470, NURS 471 and a nursing elective (if not previously fulfilled) in the spring. For an idea of when these courses are typically offered, go to the Schedule of Classes, select a previous spring schedule from a recent academic year and search for nursing undergraduate courses. A list will populate and will include a course description, meeting times and date range for each course. Lecture and lab sections are associated with NURS 470 and NURS 471; clinical placements for NURS 471 will determine what your schedule will ultimately look like. Times are subject to change. 

Advising

Advising is provided through Decker College's Division of Advising and Academic Excellence. You will be assigned a professional advisor upon admission. Your professional advisor will follow up with you about any remaining prerequisite requirements you must complete before the program starts.

In addition to professional advising staff, faculty advisors are available to discuss your degree progress, job/internship plans, NCLEX preparation, post-graduation plans and any concerns about clinical or coursework.
