Elena Erbiceanu earned her BSc in Computer Science from Al. I. Cuza University in Romania and her MS in Computer Science in 2008 from the University of Central Florida, where she is currently pursuing her PhD in Computer Science under the direction of Dr. Charles Hughes. She is a member of the Media Convergence Laboratory at UCF, where she investigates how current research techniques from machine learning, such as evolutionary computation, can enhance diverse applications. Erbiceanu was awarded a four year Presidential Fellowship award from UCF in 2006. During the summers of 2008 and 2009 she was a Software Engineering intern at Google New York and at the Google Mountain View headquarters, respectively.
