Background
Bruce Murray is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Before joining Binghamton University in 1997, he held positions as a member of technical staff at Bell Laboratories, as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at Lehigh University, and as a research scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, Md. He has held visiting positions at the Oden Institute for Computational Science and Engineering at the University of Texas, Austin, and at the Division of Applied Mechanics at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, Md. Currently, he has a visiting faculty position at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India.
