New York State Residential Tenants' Rights Guide

In New York State, there are several different laws governing the relationship between landlord or homeowner and tenants. These laws sometimes vary based on the county, township or city that the property resides in. The NYS Residential Tenants' Rights guide explains many of these laws and provides resources with information about resolving landlord-tenant issues.

This handbook is for informational purposes only and should never be used as a substitute for individualized counseling or legal advice from an attorney or other qualified professionals. Information contained in this handbook does not constitute legal advice. Please note that laws and ordinances discussed herein can change or be amended due to subsequent court decisions or other legislation.
