Mission

The mission of the Veterans’ and Military Services Office is to:

  • Commit to recruiting, retaining, and supporting active duty service members, veterans, and dependents to maintain a diverse and highly qualified student body, faculty, and staff
  • Assist students in receiving entitled veterans educational benefits and in achieving educational goals
  • Assist students in making the transition from military to academic life
  • Expand military-friendly services and programs for America's returning military members

The Veterans’ and Military Services Office (VMS) is available to help veterans and their dependents maximize their college funding at Binghamton University. Students who currently receive veterans’ educational benefits at our institution includes National Guard, Reservist, Active Duty, Veterans and children or spouses of those who have or are currently serving in the military.

Binghamton University is proud of its long-standing history and storied tradition with the military. Binghamton University has served student veterans since 1946 and is a leader in service to our students who are veterans, active duty, military dependents and survivors. We are committed to providing the best possible educational experience and service to all who attend our University.

Starting VA Education Benefits

Education benefit disclosure

The Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020 requires educational institutions to make certain disclosures to students using federal military and/or VA educational benefits. To view and print a copy of an estimated personalized cost of attendance you can visit the SUNY Net Price Cost Calculator  and select Binghamton from the dropdown. Additional financial information can be found at the NCES College Navigator site. 

The SUNY Financial Aid Plan (FAP) will provide a more in-depth analysis and accurate picture of student cost once the student has filed their FAFSA, completed a SUNY application, and has been accepted by a campus.
