To the Campus Community:
On Saturday, May 11, the University Police were notified of a series of harassing and threatening emails to several faculty members. The University Police are currently investigating the threats and their credibility while seeking to speak with an individual who is believed to be outside the Binghamton area. Although the threats originated from outside the area, the University Police take all threats toward the campus community seriously and are investigating the incident thoroughly.
This safety advisory aims to raise awareness about email threats so the campus community can make informed decisions about their health and safety. The community is encouraged to report any suspicious person, activity and threatening emails to the University Police. Additionally, anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the University Police at 607-777-2393.
