Health/Clinical Practice Requirements
As a nursing student, you must comply with health regulations set by the New York State Department of Health, the Decker School of Nursing, Binghamton University and affiliated agencies. Compliance is verified before and immediately following all deadlines.
Carefully read and comply with the health/clinical practice requirements detailed on Decker's Graduate Nursing Student Requirements webpage by the deadline. Failure to complete and maintain health/clinical practice requirements by the add/drop deadline will prevent your placement in clinical settings, result in course failure and/or prohibit future registration.
Uniform Policy
You must comply with a clinical organization's dress code when completing assigned clinical precepted experiences at all agencies. Faculty members will inform you of particular regulations during your orientation to a clinical facility. Noncompliance will lead to disciplinary action by the faculty of record relative to the seriousness of the infraction. Students visiting families in the community not under the aegis of a clinical service/agency with an established dress code should dress in a professional manner.
Equipment Requirements
You are required to own a laptop or iPad while enrolled in the nursing program. For details, review the Graduate Nursing Student Requirements webpage.
Additional Expenses Related to Clinical Experiences
As a graduate nursing student, you should expect to incur expenses for items related to clinical practice; these are in addition to the standard University tuition and fees. Refer to the Other Expenses section of the Cost webpage for details.
