Programs & Services

Special Education Programs

The Children's Unit for Treatment and Evaluation (CUTE) at ICD is a New York State Special Education Department approved private special education school. CUTE consists of two special education programs for children primarily with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (or classification of Autism or Multiple Disabilities on their IEP). The preschool program is for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old and the elementary school program is for children up ages 5 to 11 years old.

Preschool & EI Eligibility Evaluations

The Children’s Unit for Treatment and Evaluation is also an approved provider for preschool (CPSE) and early intervention (EI) evaluations in New York State. Children under three years old are referred for evaluation by the county health department where the child resides. Children between 3-5 years old are referred for evaluation by the child’s school district, even if the child is not yet enrolled in a district-based educational program. These evaluations are funded by the county health department and are at no cost to families.

Child and Adolescent Diagnostic & Consultation Clinic

The Child and Adolescent Diagnostic and Consultation Clinic (CADCC) is a specialty clinic at ICD that provides a range of services for children and adolescents within our communities. At this time, CADCC provides diagnostic evaluations for children up through the age of 15 years old for a variety developmental, learning, behavioral, and emotional concerns. Consultation services are designed to support school districts with expert training to assist them with meeting the needs of students in district-based classrooms. All services with CADCC are via contract with school districts or private pay for families seeking services without a district referral.

Early Intervention Services

The ICD operates a New York State Early Intervention (EI) approved program to provide services for children from birth to 3 years old. Services are available by referral from the county health department where the child resides. These services are at no cost to families.
