Your United HealthCare Student Resources insurance includes a prescription drug benefit. It allows students and J-1 exchange visitors and scholars to order a one-month supply of physician-prescribed medication and supplies at a participating pharmacy. A co-pay (the portion of the medical bill you are responsible to pay) is usually required. United HealthCare Student Resources insurance reimburses the pharmacy for the remaining cost of the medicine.
If you purchase prescription medication during your active coverage without your United HealthCare Student Resources ID card, you are required to pay the cost of the drug at the time of purchase, and will need to later submit your own claim directly to United HealthCare Student Resources to receive reimbursement (payment) for what you paid for the prescription.
Family members are also covered by the prescription medication plan.
