Accept admission offer

Pay your enrollment deposit and confirm your intent to enroll in the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Binghamton University (within two weeks of your acceptance letter). The $150 (USD) enrollment deposit will be credited to your first semester's bill. You may pay your enrollment deposit online using the email sent to you. Contact Maja Szostak if you need your acceptance email re-sent.

Manage computer account

You will use your Binghamton University computer account (often called your "PODS" account) to complete your acceptance and access all online resources on campus, including the Binghamton portal. The Binghamton portal will link you to services such as myCourses, BU BRAIN and QuikPAY, which will allow you to register for courses, pay your bill, access your transcripts and more. You can also use your computer account to access other services, such as public on-campus computers and the internet.

Access your computer account by logging in with your user ID and computer account password. To activate your computer account:

1. Go to the University's password website and check the box for "I forgot my password or am claiming my account for the first time."

2. Follow the prompts to activate your account and create a password.

Pay your deposit

Once you have created your password, go to the University's secure deposit payment page and log in with your Username and password. You will be able to pay your enrollment deposit once logged in.

Insert your Binghamton University userID and email address used in your application. Next, go to the Binghamton University QuikPay® log in page and use your Binghamton University userID and your new, activated password to log in and pay your enrollment deposit.

BMail is your official Binghamton University email account. Since all official University communications will be sent there, make sure to check your BMail at least once each week prior to the start of the semester and more often throughout the academic year. Once you have paid your deposit, you will need to reset your password to synchronize your PODS password to Google.

Go to password.binghamton.edu and type your username and password and submit. You are now logged in and can create and confirm a password and hit submit. You will see a confirmation that the password was successfully synced to Google and can now use the password to log into your BMail account

You must activate your computer account to activate your BMail. If you have not yet activated your computer account, follow the steps above under Manage computer account.

Criminal background check and drug screening

Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences participates in a PharmCAS-facilitated criminal background check service and drug testing. Upon your initial, conditional acceptance by a participating pharmacy school, our partner in this service, Certiphi Screening, Inc., will send an email to the preferred email address you entered in your PharmCAS application. This email will provide you with additional information and access to a secure, online form that you will use to provide consent for the background report to be procured. A copy of the report will also be provided immediately to Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy. Certiphi Screening, Inc. will provide additional instructions and outline costs on available drug screening collection facilities to be used for specimen collection. Upon report completion, Certiphi Screening, Inc. will send an email to your preferred email address notifying you that your drug screening report is complete. A copy of the report will also be provided immediately to Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy.

Submit mandatory health forms

Certain health forms are required for all students. You must download and submit the required immunization forms to the Decker Student Health Services Center via mail, fax or a PDF email attachment before you will be allowed to register for courses. For more information, visit the Decker Student Health Services Center website.

Immunizations

All pharmacy students are required to document their immunizations as directed in the appropriate SOPPS database. All pharmacy students are required to update their immunizations annually. Failure to comply with the immunization requirements will result in a hold placed on the student’s account and the student will not be allowed to go on their experiential rotations.

  • COVID-19: Provide documentation of a full series of a COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Influenza: Provide documentation of a current flu vaccine by Oct. 31 of each year.
  • Meningitis: Per Binghamton University, receipt of a meningitis vaccine is not required; however, submission of acceptable documentation is required and includes any of the following:
    • a vaccine record indicating at least 1 dose of meningococcal ACWY vaccine within the last 5 years or a complete 2- or 3-dose series of meningococcal B vaccine without a response form; or
    • a signed response form with a vaccine record (if a student submits a response form selecting this option, a vaccine record must be attached); or
    • a signed response form indicating that the student will obtain meningococcal vaccine within 30 days; or
    • a signed response form indicating that the student will not obtain immunization against meningococcal disease.
  • MMR: Provide documentation of two MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccines OR a positive antibody titer showing immunity. If the titer provided is negative or equivocal, the student must repeat the two-shot series AND provide a second titer.
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox): Provide documentation of a positive titer showing immunity. A student with a history of disease MUST demonstrate immunity by a titer. If the titer provided is negative or equivocal, the student must repeat the two-shot series AND provide a second titer.
  • Tdap: Provide documentation of a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine administered within the past 10 years. If Tdap vaccination is older than 10 years, provide documentation of a current Td booster. Previous Tdap vaccinations must be provided in order for Td boosters to be accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Provide documentation of complete Hepatitis B vaccine series AND a positive antibody titer showing immunity. If the titer provided is negative or equivocal, the student must repeat the Hepatitis B vaccine series AND provide a second titer.
  • PPD: Provide documentation of a one-step PPD test or QuantiFERON TB Gold test. If the test is positive, provide documentation of a clear chest x-ray. Chest x-rays will be good for five years, but the student must submit a TB screener every year. Students should not delete previous PPD results from the documentation database.

There are an increasing number of external hospital and clinical training sites where a student is assigned that require the student to submit proof of having a variety of immunizations. All students must keep a copy of their immunization history on file within the appropriate database as they may be asked to produce it at an experiential site. The student should check with the Office of Experiential Education (OEE) to determine which sites require such proof and/or additional immunizations. Students should be aware that being a health professional involves increased exposure to diseases.

Find information about immunizations offered by Decker Student Health Services Center online.

Health insurance

All PharmD students enrolled in the SOPPS are required to submit proof of personal health insurance. This documentation must be submitted prior to beginning any clinical experience. Failure to demonstrate evidence of health insurance will prevent the student from beginning clinical experiences in any semester. Health insurance is available through the University for those students who do not have coverage.

Submit official, final transcript(s)

The Office of Admissions at SOPPS requires your official, final transcript(s) documenting your previous college and/or university coursework and degree conferral if you earned a degree. This requirement applies to all enrolling students. The SOPPS must receive the required documentation prior to your matriculation into the PharmD program.

Request your official, final transcript(s) be mailed via the postal service or emailed via Parchment. To ensure timely delivery and processing of your transcript(s), ensure they are mailed to:

The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Binghamton University, State University of New York
P.O. Box 6000 Binghamton, NY 13902-6000

If you are requesting official transcript(s) via Parchment, make sure you are requesting delivery to: pharmacy@binghamton.edu

Unofficial or faxed documents will not be accepted.

Obtain graduate student ID card

Student ID cards are available through the Office of Financial Aid and Student Records. Students may upload their own photos in advance. Visit the Office of Financial Aid and Student Records website to learn where and when student ID cards will be issued. A valid photo ID is required to pick up a student ID card.

Arrange for housing, transportation and parking

The Binghamton area offers a wide variety of affordable, off-campus housing options for graduate students. Students can access free bus service to and from campus and around the Binghamton area with their student ID cards. For more information on housing and transportation, or to begin your housing search, visit the Off Campus College website.
