
Psi Chi - The International Honor Society in Psychology - was founded in 1929 to encourage,
stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship and advance the science of psychology.
Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are making the study
of psychology one of their major interests and who meet the minimum qualifications.

How to Become a Member of Psi Chi

- Membership Qualifications
You must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Declared Major in Psychology, Psyc ASD, or Integrative Neuroscience
- Junior or Senior credit standing (minimum of 57 credits completed)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Major GPA of 3.5 or higher
*The Degree Works report of your Major GPA may not be accurate. Use the GPA Calculators found on the Psychology Advising and Integrative Neuroscience Advising pages.
- Completion of:
- Completion or current enrollment in:
- One 300-level experimental psychology course (PSYC 350, 351, 356, 358, 360, 362, or
385)
- A leadership position in psychology such as:
- Independent Study/Research
- Psychology Internship
- Psychology TA positions
- Alternative evidence of leadership positions will also be accepted.

- Complete the Psi Chi Application Form
- You no longer need to provide a copy of your unofficial transcript
- You will receive an email from the Psi Chi board about whether or not you were accepted.
- If accepted into Psi Chi, you must pay a one time membership fee of $75 ($55 is the
national fee, $25 is for the local Binghamton chapter).
