Understanding Transcripts
- A transcript is a record of all the courses you’ve taken and grades you’ve earned at Binghamton University.
Requesting an Official Transcript
- Binghamton’s Student Records and Registrar Services office provides official transcripts through our partner, Parchment.
- The first time you visit Parchment's website, you’ll create an account and then complete your transcript request.
Accessing Your Unofficial Transcript
- Current students can view and print their unofficial transcripts by logging into BU Brain.
- Go to the Your Records tab and select Online Academic Transcript.
- To print, save the document as a PDF and print as usual.
Additional Important Details
- Access to BU Brain: You can log into BU Brain via the portal for six months after graduation or for three major semesters if you’re not enrolled in courses.
- Phone Requests: We cannot accept transcript requests over the phone.
- Official Name: Your name on official records (like diplomas and transcripts) cannot be changed after your degree is awarded.
- Using Your Transcript: Once you open your official paper or electronic transcript, it becomes unofficial, and you won’t be able to use it as an official document anymore.
