The corporation, as the sole member of the University Plaza LLC, sold its student housing complex on Aug. 13, 2014.
The corporation donated the net proceeds to the Foundation for support of the strategic needs of Binghamton University.
This Strategic Initiatives Fund (SIF) is used by the president of the University to entertain requests from the campus.
Funded initiatives have included student recruiting, fellowship support, education-abroad scholarships, NPR ads in strategic markets, recruiting diverse faculty, healthy campus initiatives, the living building project and campaign planning.
