Operations and Infrastructure is dedicated to providing reliable and efficient network, telecommunications and security infrastructure services to support the entire campus community. Our areas of expertise include data centers, telecommunications services, networks, and CCTV video surveillance and access control.
Operations and Infrastructure is comprised of three groups: Network Administration & Operations, Security Infrastructure & Support, Telecommunications.Network AdministrationThe Network Administration Group, housed within Information Technology Services, plays a crucial role in maintaining our high-speed data network that spans the Binghamton University campuses. We ensure that faculty, staff, and students have seamless access to university resources and the internet through a secure and robust network infrastructure. Our commitment to connectivity extends to all interior building spaces, providing a reliable and secure wireless (WiFi) signal that is accessible to faculty, staff and students with valid accounts.OPERATIONSThe Operations Group within Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the support and maintenance of the ITS run data centers across the campuses as well as the Electronic Waste Recycling Program. Security Infrastructure and SupportThe Security Infrastructure and Support Office, part of the Operations and Infrastructure area within Information Technology Services, manages card-based door access and network video surveillance systems across all university properties. Our dedicated staff handles the administration of these card access and video surveillance systems, provides consultation and project management assistance for installations, renovations, and new construction on campus, and performs ongoing maintenance of the software and hardware that operates these systems.TELECOMMUNICATIONSThe Telecommunications team takes care of the University's voice and voicemail services, indoor cellular, cable TV and fiber optics systems, ensuring seamless communication across campus. We strive to maintain and repair these services to provide reliable and effective communication channels for the entire Binghamton University community.
