BINGHAMTON, NY – A discussion titled, “Speak Out and Listen,” will be the topic at the next Binghamton University Small Business Development Center’s Women Business Owners (WBO) roundtable, at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 25, at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 3615 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, located behind the Plaza Diner.

Teri Coaxum, regional advocate for the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Advocacy, serves as a voice for small businesses, working with federal lawmakers to advance the views, concerns and interests of business owners.  She is currently an SBA regional advocate, working within New York, New Jersey, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

During this “Speak Out and Listen” session, participants will be encouraged to share stories about their challenges as business owners. They will also learn about various business laws, currently in the pipeline, and how those laws may impact their business in the future.

Coaxum holds masters degrees in both business administration and public administration, as well as a bachelor of arts in criminal justice.

The roundtable costs $15 per person, payable at the door and includes a full breakfast. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards and brochures to share. Advance registration is required.
